2nd Year SP 2 - Stop Motion Animation UoL

This 10 week Junior Cycle Animation Unit of Learning (UoL) began with a trip to the Tipperary Museum of Hidden History. Students selected items from the museum exhibits and created a 1-minute fictional stop motion animated response with a twist. The focus is on developing students imagination, creation, and knowledge of digital skills. Unearthing the hidden or changing the history, the project was designed as a group work based project but could be altered for individual student work. Students continued to develop their understanding of the elements of art and principles of design through exploring a variety of media and techniques not limited to drawing, photography and paper craft. Students engaged with the journey to create a story board, characters, a script, using mobile phone’s & apps to produce a short stop motion animation.
