Below is a sample of a curriculum plan for the academic year 2023 - 2024. The plan has been created in accordance to the changes in junior and senior cycle visual art specification. The curriculum plan demonstrates a range of different mediums to meet learning outcomes, gain skills and experiences over their educational journeys. The plan can be adapted to the needs of the learner and to the school environment and resources. ​My approach to curriculum planning is to instil a curiosity in the arts and love for life long learning based on a spiral curriculum, where knowledge is developed and visited on multiple occasions as the student progresses through their school years. There will be opportunities for students to visit local cultural institutes, engage with contemporary artists, visit art exhibitions, take part in competitions such as Junk Kouture, Texaco Art and ARTiculation.
