Teaching Practice

''The arts, it has been said, cannot change the world, but they may change human beings who might change the world. ''   -  Maxine Greene.

As a practicing artist and teacher I wish to instil in my students a sense of curiosity and a love for life long learning. Through developing their techniques and skillsets, giving them the space and tools to explore their individual interests, promote collaboration, personal reflection, the confidence in their own voice, to foster and support students to become creative critical thinkers. My teaching practice aligns and is informed by all NCCA Junior and Senior Cycle curriculum standards. Visual Art centres around the three strands of Art, Craft and Design and at Senior cycle, also includes Visual Studies. Art as a post primary subject is unique compared to other traditional subjects. Through art, students can explore and grow in a safe and inclusive environment.
